We publish our recall history openly. Every recall issued for Black Series trailers sold in the United States is listed on this page, along with exactly what to do if your trailer is affected. Recall repairs are always performed free of charge, whether or not you are the original owner.
The fastest, most authoritative way to know whether your trailer has an open recall is the federal VIN lookup: enter your 17-character VIN at NHTSA.gov/recalls. Your VIN is on the trailer's A-frame data plate and on your title and registration. If you'd rather we check for you, call (833) 822-6737 with your VIN ready.
| Models affected | Certain 2020–2021 C12, C13, C15, HQ12, HQ15, HQ17, HQ19, HQ19T, HQ21, and HQ22T trailers — approximately 412 units |
| Component | Curt emergency breakaway kits, part numbers 52041 and 52044 |
| The issue | If the breakaway system pin is pulled and not replaced, the breakaway battery can deplete and draw current through the main battery, which can overload the electrical system and increase the risk of a fire. |
| The remedy | Replacement of the affected components, free of charge. Owner notification began March 29, 2021. |
| Status | If your trailer is in the affected range and has not had this repair performed, contact us — the free remedy still applies. |
